InBetween · by Science of Data

Your doctor sees twelve minutes.
You live the other ten thousand.

InBetween is a phone app for short, structured symptom and medication check-ins between appointments — so the days that matter don't get lost before the next visit.

The problem

Chronic conditions generate meaningful data every day. Almost all of it is lost.

Between appointments, symptoms shift, medications start working — or don't — and side effects come and go. By the time of the next visit, months of lived experience get compressed into whatever a patient can recall in the room.

A new medication

The first two weeks tell you almost everything — tolerance, side effects, early response. Almost none of it survives until the follow-up.

A flare-up

When it passes, so does the detail. What triggered it, how long it lasted, what helped — reconstructed from memory, if at all.

A symptom pattern

Slow trends are invisible day to day. Without a record, 'have you been feeling better?' is nearly impossible to answer honestly.

For clinicians

See how your patients are actually doing — before they walk in.

1

Structured data, not a verbal recap

Check-in responses arrive organized and exportable — trends and flags you can scan before the visit, instead of reconstructing three months from memory together.

2

Set up once, then it runs itself

Enroll a patient, choose the check-in cadence (weekly works well), and InBetween handles the reminders. Patients check in on their own schedule.

3

HIPAA-compliant by design

Patient data is handled under HIPAA-compliant practices from the ground up, and flows only to the patient's own care team — nowhere else.

4

Built on 20+ years of outcomes data

InBetween is designed by a team with two decades in clinical outcomes measurement (eCOA, ePRO, IRT) — the same rigor used in research, applied to everyday care.

Interested in piloting InBetween with your patients?

We're currently piloting with a physician partner and welcoming a small number of additional conversations. Low commitment — just a conversation.

For patients

Living with a chronic condition is hard to summarize. You shouldn't have to.

A couple of minutes, not a chore

Short check-ins on your phone, on your schedule. Answer a few simple questions and get on with your day.

It goes to your own doctor

Your answers aren't floating off into a database somewhere. They go to the doctor who actually treats you — and no one else.

No more starting from scratch

Your next appointment starts from how you've really been, not from trying to remember three months on the spot.

We'd like to hear from you too.

Right now InBetween is in pilot with one physician partner, so we can't sign patients up directly yet — that's the only reason this ask is a lighter one. Write to us with your name and, if you'd like, a line about what you're managing day to day and what you'd want an app like this to do. We read every note, and it shapes what we build next.

How it works

Three steps between here and a better appointment

1

You check in on your phone

A few short questions about symptoms, side effects, and medications — two minutes, wherever you are.

2

InBetween organizes it automatically

Your answers are turned into a clear, structured picture of the weeks between visits.

3

Your doctor sees a clear summary

At your next appointment, the conversation starts from what actually happened — not from memory.

The specifics, plainly

What's stored

Your check-in answers and the times you sent them. No location tracking, no contacts, no advertising identifiers.

Who can see it

The clinician who enrolled you and their care team. Nothing is sold, shared with employers or insurers, or used to train outside models.

Where the pilot stands

One physician partner, a small patient cohort, and the check-in questions still being refined with them week to week.

Science of Data

About Science of Data

Science of Data builds tools that turn everyday patient experience into data clinicians can use.

The company grew out of two decades of work in clinical outcomes measurement — eCOA, ePRO and IRT — where structured patient-reported data is the standard. InBetween is the first product to bring that same discipline to routine care. Others will follow; each will be named and introduced on its own terms.
